I Love My Lazy Baby

I'm not sure how I ended up with such a lazy baby, but all I can say is THANK THE GOOD LORD I don't have a kid that wakes up at 4:30am like some people I know.

It's nearly 9am and she's still snuggled up in bed, sleeping peacefully while I do important things like drink coffee and blog. Her ass is also probably festering in over 8 hours worth of poo-poo and pee-pee, but it's nothing a few wet wipes and some butt paste can't cure.

Thank you for the inspiration from Trixie. Apparantly, my children are competitive. Last night, for the first time ever, they both slept through the night and stayed sleeping until almost 8AM. Miracle.

We love our lazy kid, too. He's 2 and still sleeps a solid 12 hours and doesn't wake up until 8 or 8:30.

Part of this, I believe, is self-fulfilling. A friend of mine said "Our baby gets up at 5:30am!" I said, "What time do you get up?" He says, "5am".

Well DUH!

If the self-fulfulling thing is true, my kids are sure to sleep about 14 hours a day until they are... Um... Indefinitely, I guess, because I'm still not out of that "phase."

you realize this sleeping in may be really pleasant now, but when she is a teanager and you are trying to get her to school you will be singing a different tune

You are so lucky. My brood were up at 610am this morning! I am exhausted!

Trade? Mine wakes at 4:00 AND she does not care for naps BUT she is very cute, blows dazzling raspberries, and eats up all her sweet potatoes. Not a bad deal all around.
