Stank Chamber

Have you ever gotten into an empty elevator, hit the button for your floor, watched the doors close, and then realized it stinks in there? And then spent the next few moments dreading the possibility that the elevator will stop on another floor, someone else will enter, take a whiff, and think you are the stinker?

Or is that just me?

It must be the Dain Tower. I got in one of the elevators with a group of people -- and the odor was horrific. Of course, being the mature person that I am -- I proceeded to vocalize my disgust. Noone really reacted -- they were following elevator etiquette and remained a group of flatliners. Me, I laughed all the way up to 24 with my hand over my mouth and nose. And I had to discourage some coworkers from entering the doomed car, once I finally got out. Sick, but true.

Too funny! That reminds me of that Seinfeld episode with the smelly valet driver who's BO stunk up Jerry's car:

Jerry: Boy, do you smell something?
Elaine: Do I smell something? What am I, hard of smelling? Of *course* I smell something.

As someone who has taken a lengthy roadtrip with you, I feel qualified to say that if I got on an elevator and was met by just you and an awful stank, 9 times out of 10 I would blame you. You may look innocent enough, but I know the truth.
