Stopgap

The differences between men and women are often illustrated in funny ways (and not funny like that piece of shit Mars & Venus theory, I mean funny like ha-ha). Take, for example, a recent excursion to The Gap:

M: I want to get these orange pants, but I have no shirt to wear them with.
J: Hm.
M: They're only $14.99, and I really like my red pants, and these are the same as those, but orange.
J: Hm.
M: I really like the idea of orange pants. Nobody has orange pants. I'd be the only girl with orange pants. I love that.
J: ...
M: But I have no shirt to wear with them. I can't wear black, that would look like Halloween. What goes with orange? I really need a shirt.
J: See, here's where a guy would just stop.

Just so you know, I bought the orange pants. They have joined the hot-pink knee-highs in the "Things That Currently Match Nothing" drawer.

Hm... You strike me more as a summer rather than an autumn.

I have a sneaking suspicion that they'll need a new pair of shoes, too.

But black DOES go with orange -- just check out all the fine hunting wear at Fleet Farm!

MJ: If being a summer means I look good in pink, then yeah - I'm a summer. I could never wear an orange shirt - I'd look awful. But orange pants are far enough away from my face that I think they look okay.

Let's hear it for orange pants, people!

There was apparently this guy at the U who only wore orange. All his clothes, socks and all, were orange. Strange thing is, I never actually saw the guy... I just got to hear about him from like everybody at the U. They even talked about him in the Daily.

so yeah, orange goes with orange. Apparently.
