Moshi Moshi, Dude!

Saturday morning, we went to Petco to check out the Homeward Bound Rescue dogs. The Homeward Bound people were really nice, and I'd love to get our dog from them someday. They're good people. We met Titan, who was supersweet but way too big for the lovenest. Also met several other sweetie pies, but after 407 gentle lectures from Jeremy I finally agree that maybe we should wait just a little while longer for a dog. But only a little while.

After infusing ourselves with dog smell, we drove over to Crafty Planet, a new store over Northeast owned by some of Jeremy's friends from the scooter club. They're still in the process of getting things set up, but it's a totally kick-ass place. I bought some great Sublime Stitching patterns, and Jeremy picked up the latest issue of ReadyMade.

Went to Bill & Michelle's for dinner, where they prepared fresh cream cheese wontons - made with Tofutti cream cheese! Jeremy, of lactose-intolerance fame, said, "Oh, is that what these taste like?" I must say, I wouldn't have been able to tell the difference between real cream cheese wontons and the Tofutti variety.

They followed that up with some amazing tea (They buy their stash from La Societe du The where Tony the Tea Nazi gives you instructions like, "Steep this for two minutes and fifteen seconds. Any less? It's ruined! Any more? It's ruined!"), and then we watched Bill roll up some vegetarian sushi with a variety of ingredients: enoki mushrooms, rice (duh), tempura asparagus, sprouts, cucumber, carrots and avacado. One roll even had a bit of cream cheese - deelish. We also had tempura cauliflower, mushrooms, and asparagus on the side.

After we stuffed ourselves on tea and sushi, we decided to go see Elf, which we all agreed was surprisingly good and utterly charming. And holy crap, can Zooey Deschanel sing! If she made an album, I'd be all over it.

The movie put me in a majorly holiday mood. I've never been much into Christmas decorating and such, but now that I'm all domesticated, I have this urge to buy a Christmas tree. It scares me that I'm searching Amazon for Christmas albums and it's not even Thanksgiving.

But, you know what they say...it's the mooost wonderful tiiime of the yeeear. Come on, everybody! Sing!

I am soooo with you. There is something weird about this year all the way around. I'm about to be a mom and suddenly Christmas is HUGE.

When you're ready for a dog, let me know.

Also, check out www.petfinder.com.

it was nice having you over, for Christmas music might I suggest the Booker T and the MGs christmas album. The tea was Gopal Dara, its hand picked at night as at night the dew forms on the leaves and they open up (or so says Tony) and I feel really badly, in all the excitement of rolling sushi and making tempurah, I totally forgot that you and J had brought over Sorbet, and forgot to server it.. sorry.

There'll be much mistletoeing,
and hearts will be glowing,
when loved ones are neeeeeeear !!!!!!

aaaah i can hear you singing that, meghan. and i hate it even on the internet.
