Grass

I have officially run out of my favorite perfume: Gap Grass. They've discontinued it because there is apparently not a big market for people that want to smell like their neighbor's lawn.

But I do.

That's all fine and good, but "Perfume Warehouse does not sell and has never sold any of the original designer brand perfumes. We only sell high quality rendition fragrances created by our own chemical analysis and reproduction."

Man, I'm a sucker for that scent.

This may be an assumption, but since I've seen your name on some local Minneapolis blogs (I live in Minneapolis) and thought you might be living in the Twin Cities...

...Garden of Eden in Uptown (kitty-corner from the Gap) sells Grass-scented oil/perfume stuff. It's more expensive than the Gap's, but seems better.

If you really live someplace else, just ignore me!

Ah, nothing revs me up like the smell of a freshly cut lawn, except maybe filling up the tank. I think there's a name for people like me who like odd smells. I hope they come out with Gap Gasolne.

MJ: I would totally buy Gap Gasoline. I love that smell, plus maybe I would attract a lot of hunky mechanics.

Stacey: I do live in the Twin Cities and am going to Garden of Eden IMMEDIATELY! Thanks!

Oh my God! I thought I was the only freak out there who loved the smell of Petrol. We should start a club or something. Gas sniffers anonymous...wait, that doesn't sound so good.

you gotta go for that burning oil smell.. nothing says 2 stroke engine like the smell of oil.

Posted by: bill on Wed May 14, 2003 | Reply

Actually it's either unleaded gas or Diesel fuel. The latter reminds me of when I was put to work in a Peterbilt truck maintenance shop as a child. Not kidding.

Posted by: Buddha on Wed May 14, 2003 | Reply

ICK. Jet fuel can pretty much make me barf on a nose hit. This gas discussion makes me want to hurl. That stuff'll kill ya, ya know.

Funny, the smell of diesel always reminds me of you Mopsa (no diesel dyke jokes please). When I first met you oh so many moons ago, you drove a diesel VW Rabbit. I had never met anyone who drove a diesel car before...

I LOVE Gap Grass and I too can't find it any where. I've search High and low. I'll try ebay. There is a Gap outlet in South Carolina that used to carry it and now it's gone. Maybe we can find out who manufactured it for Gap???

Hi, I love Gap Grass perfume and have been looking for another bottle since 98. I finally walked into a Gap outlet and found that they do sell it as limited edition perfume and was told that they release it once every year. If you can find a Gap Outlet you may be able to find out when they may be releasing it again...

I have a tiny bit of the gap grass solid perfume which is now several years old but still smells divine. I have also searched high and low but no-one else seems to make this fragrance except in scented candles.

I didn't know that gap release it each year, so I will try my local gap store (in the UK) and see if they are likely to do this limited edition again soon. Otherwise, I might just have to roll around on a lawn somewhere!
