Weekend Update

A lot can happen when you step away from the computer for a whole weekend. Here's the Reader's Digest version:

Friday, Jen (my co-worker) brought Joey to the office. Next to Ham-Hams, he's the best toy ever.

Friday night, dinner at Mopsa's with you-know-who. Little known fact: several months ago, Mopsa sent me a link to his website saying, "Check this guy out. He's really cool. You should date him." Heh.

Saturday, garage sale-ing all over Bloomington & South Minneapolis (the best find: two AWESOME folding chairs from the '50s in nearly-mint condition). That afternoon, off to J's niece, Bella's, 3rd Birthday party. The highlight: Bella's friend obsessing over my orange extensions, climbing into an armchair with me and grabbing them with her little fingers repeating, "I like orange the best. I like orange the best. I like orange the best..."

Saturday night watched Shooting Fish and noted that my Netflix consumption rate has an inverse relationship to my dating life. Go figure.

Sunday, drove to Mound with my mom and Aunt Rita for what my Great-Aunt Tode refers to as a "Hen Party." She did point out when I walked in that I'm not a hen, though. I guess I'm still a chick. Har. Anyway, it was cool to have an afternoon with the matriarchs on my mom's side. It was very "How to Make an American Quilt." And I was all Winona Ryder, but less steal-y.

Tonight was, as usual, the family dinner ritual. Then I finished Down & Out in the Magic Kingdom. Now it's on to The Poisonwood Bible, or trying to finish plowing through At Swim-Two-Birds. Or maybe I'll just go kick Jeremy's ass at Boggle.

Yeah! Kick his "squirrelly" ass! By the way, you should read more Hemingway. We all should.

I'm with Buddha on this one, more Hemingway AND kick his ass.
I loved Kingsolvers "The Bean Trees"
have you read that?

P.S. if you ever get tired of kicking ass and want to get YOUR ass kicked at Boggle, give me a call. ;-)

I've not read any Hemingway OR any other Kingsolver. Guess I have a lot to add to my list.

Jack: let's have a peanut butter and pickle and Boggle party!

I havn't read any hemingway, but I did see a tree that he pissed on in Key West. And my father in law has bean at his house in Cuba. And be warned, jack will do some major Ass kicking at boggle, even if he disagrees with us about the plural of Circut City.

I don't disagree with you about Circuit City, your just both wrong... ;-)

You tell 'em Jack!

For anyone who is interested in starting on some Hemingway I suggest either "Nick Adams Stories" or "The Dangerous Summer."

P.s.:Bill, I have visited his home in Key West, Played with his cats and sat in his seat at the original "Sloppy Joe's"

I read this entry last night, and just the suggestion of boggle was enough to send me off to play Bookworm. I wrote a blog entry about it. ;)

What about the suggestion of Mopsa -- what'd that do?
