Girls on Fast Wheels

The Vespa store was a blast. I got a button, a postcard and a business card...free! The walk was gorgeous, and I almost pulled a Mary Tyler Moore right there on 7th Street.

Austin met us there and we browsed like crazy. Pinky was definitely my favorite. But since she was in the window, I sat on this little cutie.

But then this afternoon, on the Internet, I discovered Stella. I'm in love with her, and she's a cheaper date than Pinky. I like my scooters like I like my women: cheap and into metal.

Meggie,

You can save a CRAP LOAD of money if you look at the Yamaha Zumi's. The cost is about $ 1,800.00. My husband removed all of the ridiculous stickers on it, added a crate to the back end and voila.....I love it. I've had it for almost three years. Let's just say I full the tank for under $1.00 and it takes me around the city for a full week. But with gas prices rising, it will probably cost me $ 1.50 once Spring arrives. But I have coveted the Vespa......All I can say is BUY IT.

Free trinkets that say Vespa on them? Quick! put them on ebay! just kidding. Stella is the way to go, methinks. Cheaper, better features, more power. Oh yeah. Put down that deposit and be one of the first!

That's the name I wanted for both of my girls - I had to settle for my dog being called Stella.

Go for it. I don't do the scooters thing myself (you can't haul kids) but I would *so* be there if it was just me on my own.

Nat, how sweet! Stella was my grandmother's name!

But you should have bestowed it on a cat instead of a dog.

I went to the Minneapolis Motorcycle show last month to check out my scooter options. After getting over the initial feeling of being a pompus geek at a bad boy party, the show had lots to offer. Scooterville had a Stella to show and it felt goooood. The Kymco's are nice too. I quickly realized that Vespa is the Harley Davidson of the scooter world. Buy a Kymco or a Genuine. There nice machines.
