Kicking & Screaming

It's no secret that Kicking & Screaming is one of my favorite movies of all time, and that The Tribe and I quote it on a regular basis. Here's an example:

(If you haven't seen the movie, watch this first or it won't be funny. It might not be funny to you anyway, but it is to me.)

Subject: Oh, I've been to Portland.

Meghan, Portland is a cliche now.

So how will this work if you're living in St. Paul with me? And not just St. Paul, A-list St. Paul. Grand Avenue. Lexington. Division 2 Minneapolis.

Okay, Portland is just the worst place to go. The way I see it you'll eventually make your life in Minnesota, why run away now? You're just postponing that "get started" year. It's a bad idea. The years of emotional paralysis are just going to wait for you when you....what are you doing? Will you stop copying and pasting what I'm writing? Can't we have one spontaneous email where my writing doesn't end up in your next blog? What if I want this material? I'm going to write a blog and title it "Selfish Girl Abandons Helpless Boy for Overrated Northwestern City."

Amusing side note: On IMDB, the Plot Outline of Kicking & Screaming reads simply: "Following graduation, a handful of college students do nothing and talk about it wittily." This explains why my friends and I like the film so much. It's about us (sans wit).
