I just submitted my first

I just submitted my first official application for a job in Portland.

I told my mom that I was thinking about moving, and she looked at me in total puzzlement and just said, "Why?" Moms are like that.

Of course, she also calls me "lambchop" on the phone and makes the "O" in mom into a little heart whenever she gives me a card. Moms are like that, too.

Are we talking about Oregon or Maine? I figure it must be the former in which case it’s time for an obscure fact: Matt Groening, the creator of The Simpsons, is from Portland, OR. I’m not sure if he lives there now.

I think you should just move to ireland. Also, i like your poems, but have you tried haiku?? Check out Haiku Town... there is one about Ireland...and send over a haiku while your at it.

You're not moving to Portland. I don't know why people think life will suddenly be more interesting or fulfilling when they leave Minnesota. I, for one, am in Cincinnati, and there is nothing that I would like more than to be back in Minnesota.
