For some reason, my age

For some reason, my age has been on my mind lately.

On my way to work today, I noticed the first appearance of fine lines near my eyes. Maybe I'm just imagining things, but that's not the point. The point is, I'm disturbed at my reaction to these alleged fine lines (which was to exclaim something along the lines of "Gaah!" and nearly have a car accident). Because I've always thought I don't really give a shit about aging. In fact, I thought it would be sort of fun to see what wrinkles, what sags, and what just gives up and falls right off. In reality, I might freak out and go buy a bunch of weird creams and oils.

I'm at a weird age. Lots of people I know are getting married and starting to have kids, or are already married and have kids, or are getting married, or are having kids, or any other combination of those activities you can think of. I'm nowhere near getting married, and can hardly fathom the thought right now. I do want to have kids someday, but some days I feel like I can barely take care of myself. Although, hell, my parents had no idea what they were doing when I arrived and I turned out okay. Sort of. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that I feel really, really young. But I'm an adult. I'm going to be 28 years old in 120 days. At my age, my mom had two kids and a house. I don't even have a pet, and I live in a studio apartment where my couch and my bed are the same piece of furniture.

Don't get me wrong: this isn't some kind of late-twenties freak out session where I'm going to go join some singles club and marry the first bohunk that comes along. It's just an observation. And now that I think about it, I don't usually do things the way everyone else does, or at the same time they do. So why start now?

Lindee is the cutest!

I'm not a girl, not yet a woman.

Lordy! What a swell baybee. I agree with Britney. Our generation has an extended adolescence.

check out the link I posted on my blog today.it's interesting, and in the same vein of what everyone is saying. Plus a bunch more stuff.

Aie! Me too. Except I turned 28 in May. I've been to 3 weddings this summer, and have one next month. My boyfriend from college has 2 kids. It's creepy.
